Arthur was born in Blaxhall in 1895, to Arthur & Mary Ann. He served aboard the River Class Destroyer HMS Kale early in the war before being transferred to the new Monitor HMS Marshall Soult, launched on the 24th August 1915. Arthur died from pneumonia at an unknown location on the 8th of March 1916, before his body was returned to Blaxhall for burial.
