Please try to make it as the fete needs new ideas and of course helpers. The FETE day this year is 19th August we can't organise the weather but we can all organise a super afternoon with your help.

I'm sure the vegetable show will take place again this year so start thinking about planting your seeds now for an even bigger and better show

PLAYING FIELD

The playing field committee are having a work party on Saturday 11th February 2006 10 o'clock to carry on the work started last year in tiding up and enhancing the playing field, everybody welcome as the more people the more hands there are do the quicker the work gets done.

VILLAGE HALL

Those of you who have attended recent events will have noticed how great the Hall is looking, due to the hard work of the volunteers many thanks to them all. Thanks must also be given to the Village Hall Committee who have worked hard throughout the year organising events to raise funds, culminating in an excellent Christmas party which was a huge success again, this was enjoyed by over 60 villagers and raised an unexpected £300 after paying the invoice for floor adhesive, there is still £90 to go into the pot towards the village hall renovations. Please continue to support the events the village hall committee have organised to take place during this coming year, as a great deal of money is required for the next stage, new foundations and building work for the new kitchen and toilets:

Some of you may have noticed that the undergrowth has been cut back behind the village hall to make a start with marking out the building lines where the new part will be built. To be able to carry out the amount of work required.

The committee hope that "own build" will take place, which means that once they have building regulations from Suffolk Coastal District Council. They can start and hope that as many villagers as possible will help in some way or another, so watch for flyers also the notice boards to keep you up to date with what is going on. Also thanks to Steve Smedley for a web site which is www.blaxhallvillagehall.org.uk (this website has died - ed) this will also keep you informed.
