Hi, my great and great great grandparents came from Blaxhall, Harriet Ling, and her son William Ling. Oddly enough my Grandparents, one from Snape, and the other born in Australia, were also both Ling. Apparently, not related. Anyway, an interesting site. Thank you. Belinda

Recently confirmed that Charles Walter Ling (name changed to Lang on arrival in Boston, 1923) was my grandfather. Very much appreciate this site and the cousin who directed me to it!

Would love to know more about my grandfather's life prior to leaving Blaxhall. Thanks!

Re Laura Ling, Jackie Carroll from Putney enquired about any relative of Laura she was my Grandfathers Esau's sister, and at one time he lived in London and I believe it was in Putney where Elisha another brother had a grocery shop, and when Esau's wife died and Elisha died,Esau married Elisha's widow.

I found a mention on the internet of an August 2009 article in the Huddersfield Daily Examiner that the BAG was looking for relatives of a WWI serviceman 4581 Bejamin Richardson killed at Fromelles 1916. He is amongst a group of AIF servicemen I am also researching. Was there any responnse of findings following this article ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially a photo.
Regards,
Geoff

Firstly to say congratulations to all concerned with this website - very interesting and informative. I am tracing my ancestors and wondered if anyone knows about Isaac Moore who was born (in 1786) and lived all his life in Blaxhall as a shepherd (one of many I guess!!. According to records he married Emelia and had a son (Isaac born 1825) and a daughter (Sarah born 1826). Isaac Moore Jnr followed in his fathers footsteps and became a shepherd. If anyone has any more details or photos that would be great.
Many thanks.

Congratulations on an excellent website. I listened to a BBC Radio 4 programme today on George Ewart Evan's recordings of Blaxhall people in the 1950s, and it brought back many memories of growing up on a farm near Bungay, Suffolk. The reference in the programme to smuggling in Blaxhall and Iken also interested me because my Great Grandfather George Creasy lived in Iken in the 1870/1880s and married Jane Hurren from Kelsale. I wonder if there's any information in your archives about them.
